Characteristics
Continuity of grain, certified origin from the same log.
Uses
Tables, cabinetmaking, high-end work and grain matching.

Prime grade, mostly free of defects.

Characteristics
Slight traces of sapwood and small pin knots are allowed.
Uses
Exposed surfaces, furniture and finishes where looks matter.

Character

Wood with small sound, live knots.

Characteristics
Knots up to 30 mm, traces of sapwood on the edges, no heart.
Uses
Flooring and furniture where natural character is a value.

Rustic

All the natural defects of oak.

Knots on every face, traces of heart allowed.

Method

How we grade.

    Sawing
    Every log is sawn and every board assessed individually.
  2. 02
    Selection
    Grading by face according to defects, knots and sapwood.
  3. 03
    Pack
    Boards of the same grade gathered into uniform packs.

Beyond the four standard grades, on request we supply any grade, format and thickness of the species we handle, to suit the customer's needs.
